Make a change. Build a future. Provider toolkit

Essex County Council has launched the 'Make a change. Build a future.' campaign to promote careers in early years and childcare in Essex. The toolkit includes a suite of materials such as social media assets, newsletter banners and A4 posters.

We are making campaign materials available to you and have created this toolkit to help early years and childcare providers operating in Essex to recruit more staff. Essex providers can use the toolkit for their recruitment campaigns.

General sector  

  • Looking to make a difference in your next role? Find out how you could shape the lives of young children and enjoy the rewards of an exciting career in early years and childcare. 
  • Broaden your career prospects by working in early years and childcare. Benefit from access to formal qualifications, training and learning and development. 
  • There are many different career paths you could take in early years and childcare. From leadership roles, to SEND coordinators, find the right fit for you. 
  • If you’ve left school and aren’t sure what to do next, find out about the opportunities available in early years and childcare. You’ll enjoy a fulfilling career supported by a team of dedicated professionals. 

Level 2 and Level 3  

  • If you hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in early years and childcare and are looking to return to the sector, it’s easier than you think. 
  • Looking to return to a rewarding career where you can make a real difference? Find out about returning to early years and childcare and come back to play. 
  • There are many benefits to working in early years and childcare, from improved career prospects and flexible working, to shaping the lives of young children. Find out how to return to a job you’ll love. 

Childminding 

  • Looking for a rewarding and flexible career? You could receive government funding to help you start up your own childminding business. Make a difference and be your own boss. 
  • Childminders can enjoy flexible working hours that fit around their own circumstances while offering professional childcare and education to other families. 
  • Childminders play a key role in supporting children’s learning, development and support them to become lifelong learners If this sounds like the career for you, find out more.

Please incorporate the key messages in your:

  • job adverts
  • social media posts
  • newsletters
  • website content

How you can support the campaign

  • help us attract new and returning early years professionals to the sector by using our campaign toolkit to share messages through your networks and channels
  • promote our campaign by using positive language and highlighting the benefits of a career in early years and childcare. This could include career progression and flexible working hours
  • when promoting the campaign, think about what makes your setting unique and what the sector offers those looking to start or return to a career in early years and childcare
  • share and engage with our social media posts 
  • use the #BuildAFuture hashtag on social media
